Judas Priest es un grupo británico de Heavy Metal formado en Birminghham, igual que Black Sabbath, pero en 1969, buscando su sonido propio después de haber sido influenciados por bandas de Rock Psicodélico, Rock Progresivo y Hard Rock como “Led Zeppelin”. “Deep Purple”, “Black Sabbath”, “Queen”, “Cream”, “Jimi Hendrix”, “Joan Baez”, hasta que como dije encontraron su sonido propio que es el pionero e inventor del Heavy Metal, además ellos iniciaron la NWOBHM, también son considerados los creadores de una característica indumentaria del Heavy Metal, como el cuero, las tachas, y demás accesorios vinculados con éste tipo de vestimenta que identifica a todos los rockeros y metaleros, todo atráves de Rob Halford, quien también en cada uno de sus conciertos llega al escenario con una “Harley Davidson”, influenciando así a sus compañeros de banda y demás bandas de éste género a utilizar ese vestimenta, desde sus inicios Judas tuvo mucho éxito, es una banda que perfeccionó al máximo lo que bandas antiguas buscaban, el nombre de la banda viene derivada de una canción de Bob Dylan titulada “The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest”, tuvo muchos miembros antiguos, a partir de otras bandas, pero cuando realmente Judas comienza a trabajar de manera maravillosa es cuando consiguen a Halford, pero la primera alineación con Al Atkins de vocal realiza un Cassette que sólo incluía dos temas “We’ll Stay Together” y “Good Time Woman”, es cuando Judas empieza a tener popularidad en las disqueras y representantes.

*Viene un momento impactante para Judas Priest, en 1993, Rob Halford, por ver que la relación de Amistad de los integrantes se estaba acabando y por querer cambiar el estilo a un Heavy Metal Alternativo, decide abandoner la banda y seguir como solista, mientras que Scott Travis estaba confuse, Halford se lo llevó a su banda, pero al igual no tuvo problemas, hablando con los integrantes de Judas, el comentó que tal vez éste era el fin de la legendaria banda de Judas Priest, pero claro que no ocurrió dicha adversidad, platicaron, y Scott Travis se quedó en Judas Priest, buscando un element como vocalista, el cual fue Tim “Ripper” Owens.

*Después de 10 años Owens decide abandona la banda, y comienza a haber rumores en todo el mundo de que Halford volvería a Judas Priest, lo cual la banda negaba esa posibilidad, pero en una reunion con la iniciativa de realizar un “Box Set”, la banda estuvo discutiendo, por lo que decidieron reunirse y así Tim “Ripper” Owens se va amistosamente de la banda, y Halford anuncia en 2003 una gira mundial para el 2004.
