Scorpions es un grupo de Hard Rock/Heavy Metal formado en Hannover en 1965, por el guitarrista Rudolf Schenker y el baterista Wolfgang Dziony, después de unos años sin ser reconocidos, por lo que hacen unos cambios solo se quedan ellos dos y Lothar Heimberg y se une a la banda el hermano menor de Rudolf también guitarrista Michael Shenker, y el vocalista Klaus Meine, con ésta formación lanzan “Lonesome Crow” en 1972, y depuués de éste disco Michael Schenker decide irse a la gran banda de Hard Rock “UFO” donde se hace la estrella, debo admitirlo Michael era tan joven y talentoso, la banda ha logrado vender aproximadamente 75 millones de álbumes en el mundo, y ha sido considerada una de las mejores bandas de Rock de todos los tiempos, y en su país “Alemania” es considerada como la mejor de todos los tiempos en su estilo, Scorpions tuvo mucha inmadurez, ya que tuvo portadas que hicieron polémica, pero a partir de los 80’s fue el momento en que maduraron y tuvieron el mayor éxito comercial, Scorpions ha dejado un gran número de fans, también fueron llamados “Monsters O f Rock”, se éxito fue principalmente las baladas, que en algunas partes han sido llamadas “Heavy Metal Trash Ballads”, por su sonido tan agresivo pero con ese sentimiento y ritmo de una balada, por eso es que destacan “Still Loving You”, “No One Like You”, entre otras.

*Fly To The Rainbow es el primer disco de Scorpions con Roth, en el cual la canción llamada “Speedy’s Comming”fue considerada en las mejores canciones de Rock alemán de esa época, y no sólo destaca esa sin varias de éste álbum.

*In Trance nos muestra un poco más ese estilo melodioso que comenzó a tener Scorpions en los 80’s, aunque aún no se podía dominar ese estilo, ya que Uli Jon Roth tenía un estilo más cercano al Rock Progresivo, Blues Rock, o Hard Rock que al Heavy Metal que comenzaron a tocar en los 80’s, para mí como ya lo dije, las mejores épocas de Scorpions son éstas con Uli Jon Roth.

Virgin Killer * 1976

*Además de que In Trance tuvo polémica por la portada, también Virgin Killer, por el mismo aspecto, de poner imágenes de mujeres desnudas, pero en este se excedieron, pusieron a una niña que creo que era hija de uno de los productores, en fin, las portadas fueron cambiadas, el disco es muy bueno, tiene la elegancia de Hard Rock que solían tener en la década de los 70’s.

Taken By Force * 1977

*Y al fin vendría mi disco favorito de Scorpions, demuestran un Hard Rock total, buenos Riffs, la voz melodiosa de Klaus Meine, y el excelente sonido tranquilo y agresivo de los demás integrantes, hicieron que éste disco me dejara impresionado, sobre todo el tema “We’ll Burn The Sky” que se convirtió en mi canción favorita de ésta gran banda, aunque desafortunadamente después de éste disco Uli Jon Roth se sale de la banda por diferencias musicales, y así es como entraría Matthias Jabs, la portada del disco son dos niños con pistolas jugando en Francia, también fue clausurada por que los franceses dijeron que era una ofensa.

*Al fin llegarían las épocas de gloría de Scorpions con este disco, considerado por muchos de sus fans y por revistas como el mejor de la banda, claro para mí no, para mí el mejor de Scorpions es “Taken By Force”, pero por algo es considerado en revistas, es un disco excelente, el disco se hizo muy comercial, pero es totalmente roquero.
