La historia de King Crimson se ha caracterizado por los constantes cambios de integrantes, Robert Fripp es el único factor común de todos los discos y todas las alineaciones del grupo, aunque él no se considera a sí mismo como líder. Para él, King Crimson es "una manera de hacer cosas" y los constantes cambios de sus miembros sólo reflejan ese punto de vista.

El mayor éxito lo obtuvieron en la década de los 70’s, la década del Rock, la banda es llamada los reyes del Progresivo, y no por su nombre si no por la importancia que ha dado a este género musical, lo que ha aportado, las influencias que h dado a otras bandas, junto con Genesis y Jetro Tool, King Crimson son las máximas autoridades del Rock Progresivo, King Crimson ha hecho historia en el Rock, las portadas que usaban en sus álbumes, eran sorprendentes, las letras de las canciones y el sonido con una composición muy detallada y magnífica, además todos sus integrantes siempre demostraron tener una cultura muy elevada comparada a otras bandas, esto es el Rock Progresivo.
*Eng - King Crimson is one of the biggest bands of progressive rock, formed in England in 1968 by the virtuoso Robert Fripp (Guitar) and Michael Giles (drums), is one of the most important forerunners of progressive rock, the name of the band (King Crimson) is derived from an idea of the lyricist Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons. According to Fripp, Beelzebub is an Anglican B'il Sabab the Arabic phrase, which means "man's ambition."
The story of King Crimson has been shaped by constant changes of personnel, Robert Fripp is the only common factor of all disks and all alignments of the group, although he does not consider himself as leader. For him, King Crimson is "a way of doing things and the constant changes of its members only reflect that view.
In 1969 the band made its debut opening for the Rolling Stones, and recorded their first album.
The greatest success came in the early 70's, the decade of the Rock, the band is called the kings of Progressive, and not by name but by the importance given to this genre, which has provided the h influences as other bands, along with Genesis and Jethro Tool, King Crimson are the highest authorities of Progressive Rock, King Crimson has made history in the Rock, the cover they used on their albums were amazing, the lyrics and sound with a very detailed and magnificent composition, besides all its members have always demonstrated a culture very high compared to other bands, this is progressive rock.
