*Black Sabbath es una banda Hard Rock/Heavy Metal con sonidos progresivos, formada en Birmingham en 1968 con distintos nombres como Earth, Polka Tulk, en 1969 cambiaron su nombre a Black Sabbath. El comienzo de la revolución que hizo Sabbath a la musica Rock fue escencial para muchas bandas de gran importancia como "Motörhead", "Judas Priest", "Iron Maiden", pionera de dicho género(Heavy Metal), es mi banda favorita por muchas cuestiones, Black Sabbath se basó en sonidos graves y tétricos, ya que Butler y Ozzy se dieron cuenta de que la gente iba a ver cosas que les da miedo, por esto se le atribuye esas letras con contenido oscuro, esto fue lo que identificó a Sabbath, ellos jamás han dejado de tocar Rock y Heavy Metal, actualmente con el nombre de Heaven and Hell.

*Después de la salida de Ozzy y Ward, Black Sabbath se vió obligado a conseguir dos nuevos integrantes los cuales serían Dio de Rainbow como vocalista y su amigo Vinny Appice en la batería, para completar de nuevo el cuarteto.

(1983)*Después de una discusion entre Dio y Tony Iommi, Dio decide realizar una carrera como solista llevándose con él a Vinny Appice, y en 1983, aunque parezca increíble Ian Gillan ex – cantante de Deep Purple en aquel entonces, decide unirse a la banda, y mejor la suerte de Black Sabbath, ya que Bill Ward se les une de nuevo para tocar la batería.

*Vienen tiempos de crisis para Black Sabbath, y todo por problemas con los integrantes, Tony Iommi y Geezer Butler se desesperaban, así que Butler decide abandonar la banda, entonces sólo quedaba Tony Iommi, quien fue el único que nunca abandonó la banda, cuando se estaba dando por vencido, llegó la entrada de Glenn Hughes Ex Deep Purple, Eric Singer, Dave Spitz y Geoff Nicholls, y así realizan por fin Seventh Star en 1986 después de tres años de sufrimiento.

*Black Sabbath tiene problemas con Dave Spitz, aunque él dijo que eran problemas personales, y hace de nuevo un cambio de formación, para poder encontrar un vocalista y un bajista, Bob Daisley Ex bajista de Rainbow se integra, pero no grabó el disco completo y además se lleva a Eric Singer y dejan de nuevo a Iommi solo, en cuánto al vocalista buscan, pero algunos de los seleccionados no duran y abandonan la banda rápidamente, hasta que se integra Tony Martin para poder al fin completar los siguientes tres álbumes, aunque el álbum fue grabado con el bajista Dave Spitz, al realizar la gira de “The Eternal Idol” él se niega a realizar esa gira, por lo cual es sustituido por Jo Burt.

*Dio y Butler se reunieron para realizar un concierto, en el que Butler interpretaría “Neon Knights”, a Butler se le ocurrió reunir a la banda de nuevo y se lo comentó a Dio, quien estuvo de acuerdo, Butler convenció a Iommi, y despidió a todos los integrantes que conformaban Black Sabbath en esos tiempos, Iommi se arrepintió de haberlos despedido, ya que comenzaban a tener éxito, pero tenía tantos problemas con el dinero que estaba confuso y decidió realizar esa acción, Iommi sólo dejaría al baterista Cozy Powell para completar la banda, que desafortunadamente su caballo falleció quebrándole a él la cadera por que su le cayó encima de las piernas, por lo cuál fue sustituido por Vinny Appice.

*Butler abandona la banda después de la gira de “Cross Purposes”, por la alta desilusión de la banda, forma de nuevo su banda solista GZR en la que edita un álbum en 1995 titulado “Plastic Planet” dónde realiza una canción criticando a Iommi, por que aún tenía el nombre de Black Sabbath con el fracaso que llevaba, Iommi recluta de nuevo la alineación de “Tyr”, con uno más Ernie C, Bill Ward había actuado en la gira de “Cross Purposes”, pero con la salida de Butler él también decidió salirse de nuevo.

*El disco más reconocido de Black Sabbath, considerado en revistas, y en muchas partes como el primer disco de Heavy Metal, sus temas son extraordinarios y muy pesados, el álbum iba a tener el nombre de “War Pigs”, pero al componer por último la canción “Paranoid”, que Iommi dijo que sólo sería para completar el disco, se quedó con ese nombre por discusiones entre la banda y la disquera, que hoy en día es la canción más conocida de Sabbath, junto con “Iron Man”, que salió como tema de la película de igual nombre.

*Master Of Reality es quizás uno de los discos más pesados del Heavy Metal, y uno de los mejores de Sabbath, destaca mucho por el gran éxito “Children Of The Grave”, como los primeros de Sabbath, es innovador, y además contiene el mejor solo de Iommi, que es “Orchid”, una canción muy bonita.

*Black Sabbath, Vol. 4, es el álbum más maduro de Sabbath, en el cual ya incluyeron Piano, Órgano, y otros instrumentos de cuerda, aquí Sabbath colocó su estilo, Rock Progresivo con Heavy Metal, todas las canciones son destacables, ya que es un disco muy bien elaborado, con buenos Riffs como siempre, aunque en este año (1972) Sabbath tuvo muchos problemas con sus integrantes por problemas de adicción, estuvieron a punto de despedir a Bill Ward, pero afortunadamente Ward cambió esa actitud y prosiguió en la banda para seguir trabajando.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath * 1973

*Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, es el disco donde Sabbath colocó más arreglos en los sonidos, y añadió a un integrante en los teclados Rick Wakeman en aquellos tiempos integrante de “Yes”, en éste disco Iommi realizó el Riff que lo identificaría (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath), aunque el mismo dijo que ese no era el disco que buscaban, sino uno de Rock total, y a éste se le describió más progresivo que Hard Rock.

Sabotage * 1975

*Sabotage es el disco perfecto de Sabbath, Tony Iommi dijo que si había mejor disco de Black Sabbath era éste, ya que era totalmente Rockero, y tenía esos sonidos progresivos con su gran y potente Heavy Metal, casi igual de maduro que el Vol. 4, el mejor así de sencillo, cada una de las canciones que contiene éste álbum son extraordinarias, excelentes arreglos, excelentes Riffs, tiene todo.

*Never Say Die! es el ultimo de estudio disco de Ozzy con la banda, ya que Ozzy no podía dejar sus problemas de drogadicción e influenciaba a sus compañeros a realizar dicha acción, por lo cual fue despedido después de un concierto llamado “Never Say Die!” de 1980, Black Sabbath se separa por primera vez, Ward y Ozzy se van, Ozzy hace su banda solista, y Ward no fue despedido, pero se salió por motivos personales, éste disco fue criticado en algunas revistas por el alto rango de ocultismo en las letras , sobre todo en “Johnny Blade” y “Junior’s Eyes”, pero al igual que fue muy apreciado por otras revistas.

*Vendría Dio para imponer un gran estilo musical a Sabbath, no mejor que los tiempos de Ozzy, pero si algo extraordinario, por el nombre de éste álbum se le atribuye el nombre a la actual banda, ya que fue el primer disco de estudio de Sabbath con Ronnie James Dio, es extraordinario y básico escuchar canciones como “Heaven And Hell” y “Die Young”, que nos demuestran ese estilo Sabático, con excelentes Riffs.

Born Again * 1983

*Born Again es el primer y único disco de Black Sabbath con el excelente vocalista Ian Gillan, es extraordinario, pero desafortunadamente se va amistosamente de la banda por cuestiones de reunión de Deep Purple, en cuánto a Bill Ward se vuelve a separar por problemas de salud, pero algo dejaron claro, y eso es un Rock de lo mejor en éste disco, un Rock potente y único en la historia de Sabbath.

*Al fin llega Seventh Star, Hughes Dijo que era extraño cantar para Black Sabbath, pero fue sensacional, y aunque hubo problemas con la disquera por el lanzamiento, porque la disquera no quería ponerle al disco como autor Black Sabbath, al final le pusieron “Black Sabbath Featuring Tony Iommi”, y hubo demasiadas críticas por los fans, pero al igual que hubo respuestas buenas.

*Graban The Eterna Idol, pero las formaciones son muy confusas ya que en la gira y en el álbum son diferentes integrantes, por varios problemas de comunicación entre la banda, aunque las respuestas buenas vendrían, ya que se llegó a decir que éste disco era ejemplar por la potente voz de Tony Martin, y los Riffs de Iommi que se consideran de los mejores.

*Headless Cross es el siguiente trabajo de Black Sabbath o mejor dicho de Tony Iommi, reclutando a los ya mencionados miembros y alquilando un salón de estudio barato, el disco tuvo un excelente público, y además fue muy bien valorado por “All Music”, quienes le otorgaron cuatro de cinco estrellas al álbum

*Tyr es la siguiente obra de Sabbath, en la cual realizan un estilo nuevo, potente y basado en la mitología nórdica, cosa que ayudó para su publicidad, claro el disco está hecho para gente muy culta, es un disco que pocos podemos apreciar el valor cultural que tiene.

Dehumanizer * 1992

*Dehumanizer fue el único album que lograron grabar con ésta reunion, ya que en la gira “Dehumanizer”, Ozzy invitó a Black Sabbath a un festival, y la banda aceptó sin la opinión de Dio, quien por su orgullo se negó a cantar en esa gira, Black Sabbath tuvo muchas discusiones, y al final tuvieron que contratar a Rob Halford (Vocal de Judas Priest), para cantar en ese concierto, éste disco fue una elaboración bastante dura, lo dijeron ambos integrantes, fue difícil y tuvo un gran éxito durante esos últimos diez años, sobre todo por los temas “TV Crimes” y “Time Machine”, al final de esa gira Dio se separa de nuevo de la banda.

Sabbath Reunion * 1998

*El álbum es sensacional y te hace recordar esos tiempos de Sabbath, además las dos canciones nuevas añadidas al álbum son extraordinarias “Psycho Man” y “Selling My Soul”, para mí son canciones al estilo Sabbath, es decir, con buenos Riffs, y con una potencia extraordinaria y sonidos de temor y rudeza, después de lanzar los discos, en 1999 a Ward le dio un ataque al corazón, lo cual impidió que fuera a la gira de Estados Unidos, es sustituido por Vinny Appice, pero después de un tiempo vuelve Ward, actualmente Black Sabbath es considerado en las “Rock Legends”, por lo que la actual banda dónde se encuentran Iommi, Dio, Butler y Appice tomó el nombre de “Heaven And Hell”, por problemas legales con Ozzy Osbourne, además Black Sabbath en la escena del Rock está compuesto por la primera formación, así que cuando escuches Black Sabbath y Heaven And Hell sabes que se tratan de bandas diferentes, y a la vez de la misma.
