El disco fue el sucesor del muy exitoso Love at First Sting y tiene algunas diferencias musicales comparado a su predecesor. En Savage Amusement la banda intenta experimentar con sonidos más accesible, con el fin de garantizar mayor radiodifusión, lo que queda demostrado en canciones como Passion Rules the Game o Walking on the Edge.

The album was the successor to the highly successful Love at First Sting and has some musical differences compared to its predecessor.
