Stormbringer * 1974

*Es el Segundo trabajo de la banda sin Gillan ni Glover, en este álbum, el alma y los elementos de funk que sólo se había insinuado en “Burn” son mucho más prominentes.
La imagen de la portada de Stormbringer se basa en una foto. El 8 de julio 1927 un tornado cerca de la ciudad de Jasper, Minnesota fue fotografiado por Lucille Handberg. Su fotografía se ha convertido en una imagen clásica, y fue utilizado y editado para la portada del álbum. La misma fotografía fue utilizada para Siouxsie and the Banshees Tinderbox el álbum en 1986.
Stormbringer es también el nombre de una espada mágica descrito en varias novelas de Michael Moorcock. David Coverdale ha negado tener conocimiento de esto hasta que poco después de la grabación del álbum.
